LAYBAKPAK came to FreeHeel Design to source and connect a suitable manufacturer with them to have the soft fabric elements produced. This project took place over the UK pandemic during 2020 and so the client, designers and manufacturers did not meet until after the project was finished and inc production.

LAYBAKPAK brainstormed a suitable Design Direction with FreeHeel Design who then went on to select fabrics and trims suitable for the target price point / FOB target. The Design Package was created and sent out to 1 source to quote and sample.

The real challenge here was fitting the fabric to the bed frame which was in development in the UK at the same time and was changing. FreeHeel Design supported the client at every development and sample stage and educated the client as to working professionally with overseas manufacturers who have to deal with many suppliers to bring a successful product to market.
